Test of new Google Maps plug-in

I am not sure if the captured plug-in works in Blogger, so I want to test the script as follows. If it works successfully, you can see a drag-able mini google map when you click each address in this post.

California

As informed in my Japanese Blog, I started to live in California 2 month before. California is really nice to live, however, I and my family has not yet been accustomed to Californian life (Yes, it is totally different from Japanese life in every aspects!), so I have not been able to update my blog even in Japanese.
I think I can tell you what I am doing recently including the update of my small programs, so please be patient to wait for another while!

Microsoft Seeks Robotics Business

Microsoft released a new authoring tool named "Microsoft Robotics Studio", which allows developers to create their own robots! I found this news in a Japanese Blog which is written by a Microsoft's worker, who explained detailed background of this software and the core of the technology. According to his blog, the tool provided a SOA based execution environment named "Common Concurrency Runtime" and a distributed system named "Distributed System Service", which enables developers to do more loosely connected programming.
I am not sure how it works because I've not yet used this tool and the level of technological requirement seems far beyond my level, but, I guess that this tool is one of Microsoft's archievement through its trial in Web Services such as ".net" or many proposal in standardization of Web Services technology. As you know, now everybody can enjoy "Remix" of many kind of web services such as Amazon ECS, Google Web API and Yahoo! Search API (My "Got2Video" is one of them). This means that many services on WWW has already started to collaborate each other and the users has already benefited from the collaboration on WWW. Don't you think that the fact that Microsoft deployed the same technology in its "Robotics Studio" indicates that many services on WWW and the real world can collaborate as well and users can benefit from it in the near future? This might be a big movement in business...

New feature, Got2Video Player

I added a new feature, PodcastRSS feed and JSON feed for Top 20 list of the videos rated by users, to my "Got2Video". You can download the videos by subscribing the PodcastRSS to your iTunes, moreover, you can hack the feed as you want. Here is the one example of the hack using JSON feed. I named this small Javascript a "Got2Video Player", where you can check top 20 videos of Got2Video without moving to Got2Video web site.
Bloggers seems not to allow us to use Javascript in the entry, so I realize it by using IFRAME tag in this entry.

Got2Video, podcasts the search result

Today I am happy to release my new web site named "Got2Video".
It is a video searching site based upon Yahoo!Japan's web search API, but it is not just a simple clone of Yahoo! Japan, features the followings.
  1. Enables users to watch the video in "Got2Video" site.
  2. Gives a web form to rate the video.
  3. Provides users with the HTML tags so that users can put the video in their site.
  4. Issues a Podcast RSS so that users automatically downloads the video from the internet.
When you enter the keyword in the text box on the top page and then clicks the "Search" button, you can obtaion top 20 video from the search results. By clicking a thumbnail or a "Play this video" link, the video will automatically start in the upper part of the result view with an embedded Quicktime or Windows Media Player.
Now you can see the radio buttons and "Rate this video!" button below the embedded player. Choose the rate (1:Bad - 5:Good) and click "Rate this video!" button. If my server receive your rate, an alert window tells you so. It uses "AJAX" (Asynchronous Javascript with XML) technique, so you can send your rating without moving to the rating result page. You can put the video by copying "embed" tag which is shown in the text box below the video and pasting it into your web site or your blog.
If you want to download the video result from your "iTunes" or "iPodder(Juice)", just drag the G2D PODCAST icon to your iTunes or iPodder(Juice). You can receive the updated search results whenever you open your iTunes, and moreover, you can carry the video with your Video iPod.

There still remains many bugs and things to be improved, so your comments or requests would be highly appreciated.

FYR, I attach the video below by putting the tag which is created by Got2Video.
